1. A Country I`d Like To Visit

 

 Hello everyone, mi name is Hellen Contreras and i want to tell you about the country i would like to visit:  Mexico 

I like the country because of its rich culture since it is a mixture of different cultures such as pre-Hispanic, Spanish (after the conquest), it also contains a bit of African culture due to the period of slavery. The most rooted in its history are the Olmec, Mayan, Zapotec, Teotihuacan, Toltec, Mixtec among others

 

The country is known for its varied gastronomy and as a freak fact, only in Mexico are more than 60 varieties of corn recognized, with which different preparations are made. They are also recognized for their spicy food, which includes varieties of peppers, beans and spices. Some examples are tamales, chiles en nogada, barbecue, carnitas, pozole, etc. The mexican music stands out for including wind, string and percussion instruments. Among the best known genres are the rancheras, the corridos, the Sinaloa band and the mariachis, the latter are recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Some traditions that are most recognized worldwide are: the day of the dead, which consists of placing an offering with photos of relatives and loved ones who have passed away. The representative elements of the offerings are the cempazúchitl flower, chopped paper, incense and food to the liking of the honorees, as well as sugar skulls with the names of the living.

 Another tradition is the day of Kings and el Día de la Candelaria

On January 6 of each year, Mexican families gather to eat the Rosca de Reyes, made of sweet bread with caramelized fruits and inside it there is a plastic or ceramic doll. The thread is cut into several pieces and distributed among the attendees. The one who has taken out the doll in his portion, will be the one who invites the tamales on Candlemas Day. This one is celebrated every year on February 2 to celebrate the Virgen de la Candelaria. The traditional dishes of the festival are atole and tamales. The festival consists of the purification of the Virgin and dressing the child of God to bless him in the church. It is one of the most important traditions in Mexico.

 

I would like to visit this country because I find it very interesting and the reason why I would leave is to continue studies and do another training at the National School of Anthropology and History. Also more interested in its climate, its beaches, varied artists, in addition there it is easier to get hallucinogenic mushrooms and its field in scientific research on mental illness is more advanced

Tell us about a subject you enjoy studying

This time, I will talk about a subject that I like to study. In the previous blog I talked about Professor Asun, he taught me that social psychology existed. This is a branch of sociology that combines psychological knowledge about behavior to explain collective behavior

 

I have taken a particular liking to this subject, since in my opinion it is key to the advancement of the sociological school and also offers a psychological profile of the masses that has provided other avenues in the formulation of new theories.

When studying social psychology I learned that a curious phenomenon occurs within society, since when we are in the presence of a conflict, whatever its nature, our willingness to help will depend on the number of people who witness this event, for example: if we witness a fight or violence, we will see that a kind of shared responsibility is generated by those who observe the fight, however, if many people observe the fight, less likely to intervene immediately or react to it. This is because by sharing the responsibility, the individual feels that someone else will interfere and that it is not necessary for them to participate. 

 

What I liked most about the subject is that before I started studying my career, I thought that it was only useful to treat people individually or at internal structural levels, this does not mean that it was not of interest to me, on the contrary, I liked it very much, but my social commitment made me choose sociology. the person I admire

The person I admire in the field of social sciences is Professor Rodrigo Asún because he is what I aspire to be, once I graduate and begin to have my own experience. He has a line of work closely related to psychology and through the interaction of this with sociology has managed to develop interesting methods of surveys, also dominates the area of qualitative research that fits with his psychological knowledge of the masses.

Professor Asun has written numerous articles and memoirs with great intellectual content, in addition to participating in research, Professor Asun conducted research on the phenomena of school takeovers.

D. in quantitative research methodology, expert in questionnaire construction, multivariate statistical analysis and research on social movements and protests.
He is married to Karina Rodriguez Navarro, works at the University of Chile as an undergraduate professor and is co-investigator of studies conducted during this year.

Sociology is a career that not everyone knows, most of the time when I say what I study, they ask me: "What is that? and I try to explain to hi
m what it means to me but, what really matters is how much my career influences the world.

 

And is that, sociology, although it maintains a passive role within research, when delivering results, allows us to know what are the problems of society and understand them better, so the problems or phenomena we investigate can be seen from the complete picture. In saying this I include myself, because in my opinion the work of a sociologist requires a lot of will not to interfere in alarming situations, which we cannot denounce until the results are obtained. In a way, it can be exhausting for health, but on the other hand, contribute to improve the quality of life of certain people since you understand what the roots of the problem are and leave behind cultural canons

 This is a meaningful photo for me, but first I will tell you who the cat is. He is Simon, the cat of my family. since he was little he has always been gaping and shy. He really does not like that there are many people in the house, he hides and is a bit elusive with the caresses.

Anyway, since he is so elusive, he never allows himself to be caressed, except when he wants to feel affection. He was never very friendly with me, but I understood. One day it was cold and raining outside, Simon came to my room and lay down next to me, then I picked him up and let me hold him until we fell asleep.

 It was so special for me, because I felt that he showed his affection in a very honest and controlled way, as if he said: "ok, I love you too ... sometimes"

My favorite food

hello everyone, this time I will talk about my favorite food.

Since I was little I have always liked food, I have never been "bad to eat". In fact, that's why I love to cook, because I love to prepare my own dishes. So, my favorite food is pasta with shrimp and cream mushrooms, but I have to prepare the dish myself because I do it in a special way.

 It's a bit of spaghetti, with shrimp and mushrooms sautéed with butter and cream. The preparation is simple, first we choose the pasta you prefer, then it is prepared in a pot with hot water and boiled to the cooking point you want. Then, chop the mushrooms to put them in a pan along with the shrimp, said pan is previously heated with a little butter. Dressing with oregano and garlic, then pour the cream over the pan and cook for about five minutes, finally add a little cheese and serve with the pasta.

I love this dish, because it is simple and the combination of ingredients is very good, the cheese and mushroom taste great together and the cream increases the flavor consistency, plus the pasta makes the dish not light or very heavy, it is perfect!

The dish is not very healthy, because it contains 1,616 calories, however eating this from time to time and with a balanced diet and a lot of exercise does not harm health much. Well that's not my case, I don't have a balanced diet or exercise, but I love it and I don't eat it very often, so it's not so bad, right?

My Favorite Piece Of Technology

Hello everyone, this time I will tell you about my favorite piece of technology. In my case, I have two favorite pieces and I can't decide, that's why I'll tell you about both. The first is the headphones, I love them because they allow you to listen to whatever it is, without bothering others. On the other hand, they allow you to have intimacy, with what you listen, be it music, voice notes or movies. I use them for everything, cleaning, traveling, cycling, etc.

However, when I cannot use the headphones because I would not hear anyone, I use the speaker. It's my second favorite piece, since when I can't use headphones I listen to music through the speaker. whether for cooking, cleaning or a party.

I recommend using both in moderation, as high decibel levels can cause hearing damage. Anyway, my life is much better with headphones and speakers, they brighten my day and change my mood. See you on another blog. Kisses💋💓
